 Climbing Quitaraju Summit
  (7 days 6 nights )

Summary: Their proximity to the Alpamayo and the fact to share he himself ice field has turned it another great classic one of this mountain range. Its normal route passes by its edge the west, but it is the North wall and his 800mts of via which more flame the attention of the climbers who appreciate it from field one of Alpamayo or the same wall of this beautiful mountain since they are “face to face”. Itinerary.

Day 01: Huaraz – Cashapampa – Llamacorral (3800m/12464ft) (L) (D)
After the breakfast in the hotel we will aboard in our private bus to go along the Callejón de Huaylas in the north side of Huaraz. passing the different districts such as: Carhuas (2650m/8692ft), Yungay (2500m/8200ft), after this city, we will get the Caraz city (2400m/7872ft), then we will continue our travel to get the last Distrit Cashapampa arriving around 10:00am , where the Donkey Driver will waiting for us to transport our Camping equipments , from here we will start hiking up, after walking 2 hours half we will have lunch, then we will continue hiking up, after hiking up for 5 or 6 hours we will get the first camp named Llamacorral, arriving around 4pm. Overnight camping at (3800m/12464ft).

Day 02: Llamacorral – Jatuncocha Lake – Arhueycocha. (B) (L) (D)
Today we will hike along the valley moderate enjoying the beautiful lakes called Ichiccocha and Jatuncocha, turquoise lakes, then we will arrive to nice spot where will have lunch at the place called Quisuar, after it we will climb up to the Quitaraju Base Camp, we will get here early and prepare and check our climbing gears for the next day, overnight at (4500m/14760ft).

Day 03: Quitaraju Base Camp – Moraine Camp. (B) (L) (D)
After the breakfast we will start climbing up for about 3 hours rocky path and get the Moraine camp, where we will enjoy a splendor views of the mountains Artesonraju, Paria, Pucajirca and others, after the pitch the tents we will check our climbing equipments for the next day. Overnight camping at (4800m/15744ft)

Day 04: Moraine Camp – Camp 1. (B) (L) (D)
After breakfast, We will climb the glacier for about 4 hours half, where we will put our climbing equipments for continue climbing, then we will get the camp 1 and will have dinner later afternoon and rest, overnight camping at (5550m/18204ft).

Day 05: Camp 1 – climb up Quitaraju summit (6100m/20008ft) – Camp 1. (B) (L) (D)
Today the breakfast will be at 03:00hours in the morning, and we will start climbing 03:30hours, after 1 hour half walking in the snow we will get the base of the wall, the inclination is approx. 70 º, then we will start climbing the wall, and after 3 or 4 hours climbing we will succeed the summit (6100m/20008ft), where we will have impressionist white mountain peaks. And after to enjoy for a few minutes we will come dawn rappelling with the help of our guide, arriving to the camp place at 13:00hours and just for lunch, and rest in the afternoon, overnight in the glacier at (5550m/18204ft).

Day 06: Camp 1 – open down to the Base Camp. (B) (L) (D)
After the breakfast in the Camp 1, we will take the same route to go back to the Moraine Camp, then we will continue go down to the Base Camp, arriving to the Base Camp around 3:00pm. Overnight camping in the Base Camp of Arhueycocha.

Day 07: Base Camp – back to Huaraz. (B) (L)
Today we will come back walking down hill along the Santa Cruz valley enjoying the nice view of Jatuncocha and Ichiccocha Lake, till Cashapampa, where the transfer will be waiting for us and will have a last stop for lunch, after lunch we will aboard our private transfer to return Huaraz, for about 3 hors half, arriving to Huaraz around 4 to 5:00pm.

THE CLIMBING COST INCLUDES:
•Transfer Lima - Huaraz - Lima.
•Qualified and experienced local guide/s UIAGM. (English and Spanish)
•Additional guides and porters where necessary
•Climbing permits - Huascaran National Park.
•Porters, cook, horse man and pack animals
•Emergency horse.
•06 or 07 days climb to alpamayo mountain
•All food during climbing days.
•Cook and assistants.
•Group Equipment: ropes, tents, stoves etc and all supplies necessary to make a safe and strong bid for the summit
•Group First aid kit.
•Insulated mat
•All guiding service.
•All the logistic.

THE CLIMBING DOES NOT INCLUDED:
•International flights
•Meals and hotels in Lima and Huaraz.
•Excess equipment over the 20kg per person allowance.
•Personal clothing and gear to include sleeping bag and mattress.
•Personal expenses such as alcohol, phone calls, gifts, laundry, room service and so forth
•Extras at hotel (i.e. telephone, laundry, internet…).
•Departure taxes at the airport. (International departure tax is currently $30.25),
•Excess weight for your luggage.
•Travel Insurance.
•Medical treatment.
•Medical vaccinations
•Any rescue costs.
•Meals not specified.
•Any personal charges.
•Any costs associated with early departure from the expedition
•Return flights to Lima, Peru.

WE RECOMMEND TO BRING:
•Backpack.
•Sleeping bag.
•Rain jacket or poncho (plastic ponchos can be purchased in Huaraz for a few dollars).
•Strong, comfortable footwear.
•One complete change of clothing (you can afford to carry more changes of clothing if you hire a personal porters, see options below)
•Sweater and jacket (something warm).
•Water bottle, ideally non disposable canteen (boiled drinking water will be provided).
•Torch / Flashlight and batteries.
•Hat or cap to protect you from the sun.
•Sun block (sun protection cream).
•Insect repellent, absolutely the most important item for this hike is bug spray. Anything with a lot of DEET with do the job, anything less is simply not sufficient. Bug spray MUST be bought in Huaraz, as it cannot be found even in neighboring towns.
•Toiletries, towel and toilet paper.
•Selection of small snacks, chocolate, dried fruit, biscuits, energy bars etc.
•Camera, plenty of film and spare batteries, cash in soles and US$
•Swimsuit (if you plan on visiting the hot springs at Hunacarhuaz after the trek)
•Optional: walking Poles /sticks rubber covers necessary (can be hired from our office for US$30 for the 15 day trek)
•You also need to bring a copy of your passport on the trail.
