Day 1: Arrival Lima
Assistance on your arrival in Lima and transfer to your
selected hotel. Free time to rest and prepare for starting
your trip around this magical country.
Day 2: Lima – City Tour – Museums. (B)
In the morning, city tour of the "City of Kings" including
the Historical Center of Lima, visiting Main Square,
Government Palace, City Hall, the Cathedral (where the tomb
of Francisco Pizarro, conqueror of Peru, is located),
Cathedral’s Museum, Temple of Santo San Francisco, Lima
Colonial Balconies, Torre Tagle Palace, Paseo de Aguas and
Convent de los Descalzos. Then, drive through the
residential district of San Isidro, visiting El Olivar Park;
Miraflores, visiting the Kennedy Park, Love Park and
Larcomar Mall.
Free for lunch. In the afternoon, for an excellent overview
of Peru's past, visit the Anthropology and Archeological
Museum holding the best private collection of pre-Columbian
art in Peru. Here are shown many fine examples of textile
works, one of which has a world-record 398 threads per inch;
the materials and tools that ancient Peruvians used to
produce their work in ceramics and metal; Peruvian pottery,
gold and silver pieces with semiprecious stones from Pre-Inca
and Inca cultures. Return to your selected hotel for
overnight.
Day 3: Lima – Cusco – Surrounding. (B)
Early in the morning, transfer to airport to take a flight
to Cusco.
Assistance on arrival in Cusco and transfer to your selected
hotel. Free time to take a short rest to be acclimatized to
the altitude.
In the afternoon, city tour of Cuzco visiting the Main
Square and the Temple of the Sun or Korikancha.
Then, drive out of the city to visit the Inca sites of Kenko,
Tambomachay, Puca Pucara and the impressive fortress of
Sacsayhuaman, built strategically on a hill overlooking
Cusco; famous for its enormous carved stones joined with
astounding precision to form the outer walls. Some of these
stones stand over 9m / 30ft tall and weight over 350 tons.
Day 4: Cusco – Sacred Valley – Urubamba – Chicon. (B) (L)

Excursion to the "Sacred Valley of the Incas", a succession
of picturesque towns, agricultural terraces and
archaeological sites. On Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays,
weŽll have the opportunity to bargain with vendors or stroll
at the Pisac's typical Indian market, with a catholic mass
service on Sunday (celebrated in Quechua, the native
language). Lunch at a local restaurant in the Sacred Valley.
In the afternoon pass through Calca and Urubamba towns to
arrive to the Inca Fortress and Citadel of Ollantaytambo,
which was built to guard the entry of this part of the
valley and protect it from enemies of the lower jungles;
consisting in a series of superimposed terraces of carved
stones accessed by long staircases. We will have the
opportunity to walk through the quaint streets of the nearby
town, religious and agricultural centre during the Inca
Empire, and get a clear idea of the military strategy
against possible invasions. On our way back to Urubamba
after transfer to community of Chicon, accommodation in
local houses. In the dinner the local family explain about
mystics legends.
Day 5: Chicon Community. (B) (L) (D)
After breakfast you can observe the large variety of
cultures due to the good quality of the fields.
The municipal guides and members of the community will
welcome you and explain the historical context, the
functioning of the system of irrigation, as well as the
customs and the regional values. They will offer you a small
meal (fruit juice or herbal tea, corn and cheese) and will
then accompany you to your host’s farm. There, the peasant
and the municipal guide will inform you about the
agricultural techniques and the use of the various tools.
Before beginning the farm work, the owner of the farm will
give offerings to the Apus (spirit) of Chicon. At lunchtime,
you will share the meal with your host family. The food is
prepared with local products and flavored with aromatic
herbs. Everything will have been boiled or cooked. You will
be able to choose between a meat dish or a vegetarian dish,
whose preparation will be explained in detail. After the
meal, you will begin a short hike up to the mirador of
Pukamocco to take some photos and view Chicon snow. Later in
the afternoon, down to Yanaconas Community. Night in the
local home.
Day 6: Chicon – Urubamba – Ollantaytambo – Machupicchu.
Breakfast in the local home. Today, you will participate
actively in the agricultural works. The activities realized
will obviously depend on the agricultural calendar. In the
morning break, you will get a small meal similar to the one
of the previous day. After lunch, a group of musicians and
dancers in traditional costumes will come to give you a
farewell concert (kacharpari). After the regional popular
songs, there will be a dance in homage to the Lord of
Tantanmarka, protector of Chicon Villages. The farewell
ceremony will continue with dances of the locals. They will
teach you how to dance to the lively rhythms of the andine
music. Before your departure, the delegate of the community
will offer you a small present in the course of friendship.
After down to Urubamba and continue to Ollantaytambo then
take your train to Aguas Calientes. Arrival to train station
and transfer your hotel Overnight (Optional visit thermal
baths)
Day 7: Aguas Calientes – Machupicchu – Cusco. (B) (L)
Early breakfast in the hotel. After 30-minute bus drive,
climbing 6km of winding road, to the incredible Machu
Picchu. Upon arrival, weŽll participate in a guided tour of
the Citadel, visiting the Main Plaza, the Circular Tower,
the Sacred Sun Dial (Intiwatana), the Royal Quarters, the
Temple of the Three Windows and various burial grounds.
After the tour you will have time to stroll around the
archaeological site at your leisure. Lunch in a restaurant
at Aguas Calientes town.
Late afternoon return to Cusco. Overnight at selected hotel
in Cusco.
Day 8: Cusco – Lima. (B)
After breakfast in the hotel transfer to the airport and
take your flight according time then continue to back your
home or next destination.
