|Summary: At the North of Arequipa, there is Colca
Canyon. With a depth of 3400 m, it was considered as the
deepest canyon of the world. But it turns out that the
nearby canyon, the Canyon of Cotahuasi is even deeper! It is
also here that we can see smoothing condors during hours...
Surrounded by snowy summits mountains, Colca valley with its
river leaves the place for a restful stay.
By riding Peruvian Paso horses, this magnificent horse with
their unique gait, you make a journey in the time. The doors
of Colca open in front of you to make of this ride an
unforgettable experience, close to the nature.

Day 01: Arequipa – Chivay - Yanque (trekking, and hot
springs) (L) (D)
At 07:30/08:00 a.m. we pick you up at your hotel in Arequipa
and departure towards North West direction.
Behind the snow-covered Chachani we will see wild vicuñas,
alpacas and lamas in the "Pampa Cañahuas" National Reserve.
Also we’ll see some birds like flamingoes, ibises, Andean
geese, ducks and Andean eagles ("Kara Kara"). We will stop
at the viewing point of the volcanoes and snow covered
mountains in Patapampa (4,800 m.a.s.l).
From this point we made the descent towards the town of
Yanque (Killawasi Lodge), previously coordinated lunch in
Chivay or if you prefer we can coordinated your lunch in the
In our hotel you’ll be accommodated in one of our junior
suite (spacious and comfortable rooms with private terrace
surrounded by beautiful scenery, ideal environment for
reading or resting. The bedroom features a king size bed,
two twin beds or three with cotton sheets, antiallergic
pillows, central heating, large bathroom with tub, hot
water, soft cotton towels and amenities needed to make your
stay an unforgettable experience).
In the afternoon we start the short trek of about three
hours. Will be visiting the amphitheater of Oqolle, crossing
the “Sifon” bridge (in this point you can appreciate the
Colcas), we will climb to the ruins of Uyu Uyu (from there
you can enjoy a panoramic view of the Canyon and the town of
Before returning to the hotel we will go to the hot springs
where you can relax. At night you can enjoy a dinner at the

After an early morning breakfast (06:00 a.m.) we leave for a
full day excursion at the left shore of the canyon.
We’ll visit some beautiful and typical towns, colonial
churches, gentle people with typical needlework dresses,
hundreds of pre Inca terraces still in use with Andean
growing’s like corn, quinua and kiwicha. After a 2 hours
drive we’ll get to the most visited point: “The Condor’s
Cross”. Here we are able to see the deepest part of the
canyon and the flight of the condor.
Return to the hotel 12.30 p.m.
Optional: At 3:00 p.m. you’ll be embark on a horseback ride
(approximately 2 hours) around the village of Yanque,
visiting some ruins and nearby villages where you’ll be able
to appreciate the local people performing everyday
activities such as grazing and agricultural work, also you
can enjoy the beautiful landscapes.
After the ride you can relax in our hammocks or enjoy the
private terraces in your room.
Day 03: Yanque – Chivay- Puno. (B) (L)
In the morning you can relax on your private terrace, enjoy
the hotel facilities or you can enjoy a short walk through
the town and visit the beautiful square, their colonial
church and the museum, where you can watch the replica of
the Juanita mummy and well developed models of all colonial
churches of the Canyon and other topics of interest.
At 11.O0 a.m. we will transfer by private car to Chivay
where you can visit the market and the main plaza.
After lunch we will departure to PUNO in tourist
transportation with guide.

02.15 pm Stop at the viewpoint of the volcanoes
03.35 pm Stop in “Pampa Cannahuas” for coca tea and use of
