 Climbing Hualca Hualca Mountain
  ( 5 day 4 nights)

Summary: Hualca Hualca is an extinct volcano at the north end of the Cordillera Ampato. It is a complex mountain with many ridges and summits and several quite large valley glaciers. It is a peak that was almost certainly climbed hundreds of years ago by the Incas because a ceremonial puma skin was found high on the mountain in the 1980's. We will climb mainly at the northern and western ends of the massif approaching from the Colcan canyon to the north.
Intineray Day by Day:(B)= breakfast / (L)= lunch / (D)= dinner


Day 01: Arequipa - Chivay:
Early Dismissal 8:00 am. A Chivay which is 3 hours approx. From Arequipa. On the way we pass the National Reserve of Salinas and Aguada Blanca where you can see plenty of alpaca, vicuna, some vizcachas, etc. Pass through the Valley of the Volcanoes 4850m. Where you can see the volcanic mountain range. Arrival to Chivay for lunch and the afternoon you can go to the baths of 38 ° C called La Calera. Return to Chivay where we will spend the night in hotel. (BL, D)

Day 2: Chivay - Madrigal.
Early departure Pinchollo, Quebrada de Cabanaconde. Madrigal mine, at 3300 Forest Euacaliptos m.Pernocte.

Day 3: Madrigal - Snow Sepregina.
Departure after breakfast. Climb up to 4900 m. after 4 hours of walking to get to Nevado Sepregina 5010. Being the highest Punot walk, then continue on a difficult journey to reach the Inca roads leading to the village tocall to 3800. Perncote.

Day 4: Snow Sepregina - Sangalle.
Departure at 8:00 am will be a walk in the Quebrada Huaruro. Colca Canyon Lookout. Descend to Malata, to finally reach Sangalle (Oasis). Overnight in this beautiful place.

Day 5: Cabanaconde - Arequipa.
Early departure Cabanaconde exactly at 3:30 am. Arrival Cabanaconde. Breakfast, for onward travel to Cruz del Condor (optional), or to Chivay for lunch. Finally, continue to Arequipa and Puno as the itinerary for each passenger.

Rain Season: December to March. Some days blue sky with good conditions to climb.

Best Time for Climb: April to November, on the rain season same days are with good weather (blue sky) permitting to climb this volcano. before to book your tour please see the weather report.

Advice for Climbers: To have good acclimatization, good physical conditions and good quality winter clothes. One day before all the climbers will have meeting with the mountain guide at our office or in the hotel, who will give a briefing about this climb and also you can check the quality of the climb gear will be used on the mountain.

What You Need to Bring/Carry:
- Backpack 70Lt minimum
- Sleeping bag -15Cº (can be hired from our office for US$4.00 per day, in Arequipa)
- Windproof jacket
- Strong comfortable and waterproof boots
- One complete change of clothing
- Sweater and thermal pants (something warm)
- 4Lt of water per person, minimum
- Flashlight and batteries
- Hat or cap to protect you from the sun
- Sun block (sun protection cream)
- Toilet paper
- Selection of small snacks, chocolate, dried fruit, biscuits etc,
- Camera, plenty of film and spare batteries
- Binoculars
- Your personal first aid kit
- Walking sticks or poles.
