 Huaraz Quilcayhuanca  Cojup Trek
  ( 3 days 2 nights )

Summary:This short trekking circuit takes place to the East of Huaraz city, this trekking is different to the other circuits, because its geography is a little more rugged, from its highest pass Choco 4950masl, most times can be seen condors, we see many mountains and lakes, maybe the grade is difficult but the views are the best prize for all the efforts.

Itinerary.

Day 1: Huaraz – Quilcayhuanca – Tullpacocha (4250m/13940ft). (B) (L) (D).
After the breakfast in Huaraz, we will pickup you to your hotel to travel to the East side from Huaraz, after travel 1 hour half approximately will be arriving the Huascaran national Park entrance, along this travel we will pass small village lake Unchus, Llupa and Pitec where is the point the Route for Churup lake at (3800m), in the Huascaran National Park entrance our Donkey Driver and Donkeys will be waiting for us to transport our camping equipments to Tullpacocha, lunch on the way, along this route we will have a splendid views of Andavite Mount, after hiking 4 hours will arriving to Tullpacocha. Overnight Camping at (4250m / 13940ft).


Day 2: Tullpacocha – Huapi pass (5000m/16400ft) – Cojup. (B) (L) (D).
After the breakfast in Tullpacocha we will start climb up to Huapi Pass (5000m/16400ft) for about 3 hours half, before pass we will enjoy the nice Lake named Cuchillacocha at (4625m/15170ft), on the Top we will stay for some minutes to enjoying the splendid views for nice peaks like Huapi, Pucaranra, Tullparaju, Andavite, Cayash, Maparaju, San Juan, etc, after that we will go down to Cojup valley, which is our second Camp named Perolcocha at (4000m/13120ft).

Day 3: Cojup – return to Huaraz. (B)
After the breakfast in our camp we will start go down hill along Cojup valley to the entrance for about 2 hours half approximately, where our transport will be waiting for us to transfer to huaraz, arriving to Huaraz around 1:00pm and transfer to your Hotel.

■Tourist ticket of 70 soles or $20 US Dollars per person (Obligatory). This is the unique entrance to the Huascaran National Park.
■Trekking gear such as poles, backpacks and head lamp (without batteries)
■Oxygen bottle and first aid kit

WE RECOMMEND TO BRING:
•■Sleeping bag -15ºC (Can be hired in our local office $5 USD per day)
■Small backpack (65lt)
■Rain jacket or poncho, plastic ponchos can be purchased in Arequipa (just in the rain season Dec - April)
■Strong comfortable and waterproof footwear
■Sweater and jacket (something warm)
■Bottle of water and purification tablets and purification tablets (Micropur are recommended and can be bought in local pharmacies in Arequipa)
■Flashlight and batteries
■Hat or cap to protect you from the sun
■Sun block (sun protection cream)
■Insect repellent
■Toiletries, towel and toilet paper
■Selection of small snacks, chocolate, dried
