Huchuy Qosqo and Machupicchu Trek
(3 days 2 nights)

A fantastic two-day trek in the area around Cusco, departing from Chinchero, located just 40 minutes from Cusco, leading to Huch’uy Qosqo, an ancient Inka archaeological site and the Inka Wiraqocha palace perched on a cliff over the Sacred Valley of the Inkas. We’ll hike through mountain passes, beautiful lagoons, Andean communities, and other amazing landscapes, as well as seeing a diverse array of local flora and fauna. An excellent and less-traveled-hike as an alternative route to the saturated Inka Trail.

Day 1 CUSCO - HUCHUYQOSQO Early morning pick up at your hotel and transfer to Patabamba where our Llameros are waiting. There we will load our gear on the lama’s and mules before we begin our first day's hike. Along the way with a Scenic view your cook’s will prepare your lunch, restoring your strengths. Continuing on your walk to Huchoy Qosqo your nights camp site (sleeping in tents).

Day 2: HUCHUYQOSQO - CHINCHERO - MACHUPICCHU After a guided visit of Huchoy Qosqo we will continue our hike to the small town of Chinchero. Arriving there around noon, a demonstration of traditional weaving will take place at a local’s home. Lunch will be served here. After lunch we will transfer you to the Sacred Valley train station.
An afternoon trains ride of 1 ½ hours to Machupicchu town (Aguas Calientes) with the Vistadome train. On arrival in Machupicchu there will be a short walk of 5 to 10 minutes to your hotel where you will spend the night.
Overnight in Aguas Calientes in hostal
Day 3: MACHUPICCHU - CUSCO An early morning 3 hour guided tour of Machupicchu’s ancient city in private service. After your tour you have free time to explore this magnificent site yourself and when you're ready you can take the bus back to Aguas Calientes, to have your lunch. In the afternoon train back to Cusco. Pick-up at the trainstation and transfer to your hotel.

•One overnight in a hostel in Aguas Calientes
•Expedition train Machupicchu/Poroy
•Mountain Hardwear tents (3-person tents for every 2 individuals)
•Foam mattress (self inflatable mattress can be rented at $ 7.00 for the trek
•Cooking equipment, mess tent, dining tent, chairs, tables
•Cook preparing all meals
•Meals: : 3 breakfasts, 2 lunches, 1 dinner and snacks; food is programmed for trekking and is rich in carbohydrates.
•Boiled water provided at meal times to refill your water bottle
•Pack horses to carry camping and kitchen equipment
•Llama's to carry your personal gear
•Wranglers and Llameros responsible for the pack horses and lama's
•First aid kit, emergency oxygen, radio communications
•Transfer Poroy train station to Cusco.

•Tips for the guide and other staff
•Dinner on day 2 and dinner & lunch on day 3 in Aguas Calientes
•Water purifying tablets
