The tour begins with the pickup from the hotel at 4.30 hrs. approx. to head south, during this journey we will make a stop at the Pomacanchi lagoon to take pictures. Continuing with our trip we will arrive at the Rinconada sector, where we will have a light breakfast surrounded by beautiful landscapes. After breakfast we will start our hike downhill to Waqrapukara for 2hrs. approx.
Once we arrive at Waqrapukara, we will have a guided tour, visiting the following places: Intipunku (“Sun Gate”), main square, towers, andenería, enclosure of Wiracocha and cave paintings depicting llamas.
After visiting Waqrapukara we will return by the same road uphill until we reach the point where our vehicle left us.
Upon arrival we will have a delicious lunch in the open air.
Finally, we will return to Cusco, arriving at 18:30hrs approx.
NOTE: Please note that breakfast and lunch are in the village of Sangarara. It should be noted that there are no tourist restaurants in the area.
To drink coca tea during the day: Helps reduce the effect of altitude (avoid drinking it before going to sleep, as it could be a stimulant and you may not sleep well).
